Born in 1949. Fourth son of seven sons. Grew up in Houston and have lived in Houston ever since. Graduated from St. Thomas H.S., Notre Dame and Texas Law School. Cheerleader in h.s. and college. Have had a continuous law practice since graduation in 1974. Have served as a Sunday school teacher, a volunteer teacher in middle schools, a Bible Study teacher, and as an organizer of a new church. Have been a speaker at numerous seminars on civil litigation, insurance claims handling, estate planning, asset protection, and other areas. Have served on the State Bar committee for media relations. Have been a host of a radio program focusing on legal education of non-lawyers since 2001. Married to Jill Marie Boyer Mattingly. Proud father of three children, two of whom have graduated from college and the third will do so in 2015.
